Propylene epoxide is an important chemical product in pesticide industry. Recently, as the supplier of Propylene epoxide in the Northeast Asian region will usher a maintenance period, which led to the tight market of supply, the price of Propylene epoxide in Asia is hopeful to have a modest increase in the second quarter.

In China, the traders said that since the beginning of early February, the source of Propylene epoxide has begun to form a tense trend and the domestic largest producer of Propylene epoxide has been prepared to overhaul next month. The traders worried that the price of the domestic Propylene epoxide will show a jumped up trend.

Not only in China, the Japanese side also expressed that their domestic supply of Propylene epoxide would show a tension in May and June. At that time the Japanese side will reduce the exports to meet the demand of internal market.

The EU member state voted for malathion back in Europe in January. If passed, malathion will be included in Annex I to Directive 91/414/EEC and its products can be registered for use in EU member state again. Malathion is a good effective and cheap organophosphorus pesticide, but its process is harmful to environment. Malathion has been out of the EU market since December 2008. Danmark Cheminova will reintroduce malathion in Europe for control the insect pests. Reintroduction will take several years depending on the evaluation time in the member states. Psyche think malathion can be on sale in Europe after five years at least.
