Acute Toxicity Tests To Silkworm

The acute toxicities of four formulations to silkworm (Bombyx mori) were evaluated in laboratory, using the leaf dipping method. The toxic symptoms of silkworms after treatment of pesticides were systematically observed. The results indicated that the LC50 of Pyrethrins,5%EC, Imidacloprid, 2.5%WP and Chloramine Phosphorus, 20%EC were between 0.1~10mg/L, belonging to high toxicity grade; the LC50 S of Difenoconazole and Propiconazole, 300g/L EC was 5.60*100mg/L, belonging to low toxicity grade. The observation of toxicosis symptoms of four formulation on silkworm displayed similar symptoms like vomitive, distorted, “C” or “S” shaped and repose etc.

According to reports, due to safety and environmental monitoring has been intensified, the goverment shut down a number of environmentally friendly raw materials companies. Meanwhile, the price rising for water and power for raw materials companies results to the equipment underemployment. In October, the international crude oil prices rose to bulk raw materials export markets turn for the better, the prices rose sharply, reaching record highs. From the beginning of early November, the domestic use of pesticides went into the off-season. Generally the year of pesticide prices will naturally fall in off-season about 10%. But after the sharp rise in raw material prices, many companies reported that the high prices for frug.
It is predicted that by 2011, the total national pesticide demand will increase 2.69% to 308,200 tons. In the first half of next year, pesticide market will be out of the bear market. The price rising of pesticides is an inevitable trend.
