The “12 5” plan which is drafted by CCPIA(China Crop Protection Industry Association) has been completed and reported to the competent authorities.The plan mentions that the number of manufacturers who produce pesticide technical will be reduced to 300 from now on until 2015. After the plan is being carried out, there will be 5 companies whose turnover are more than CNY 5 billions in annual sales and 20 companies are more than CNY 2 billions. Among these manufacturers, the top 20 companies’ production capacity accounted for 50% of the overall production. In the plan, China will set up 3～5 Agrochemical Industrial Parks and support about 3 groups of companies which are competitive, large-scales in size and internationalized.

Brazil announced the ban of insecticide Methamidophos. All production of Technical and related formulations will be terminated immediately. Before 2012 the products kept in stock can still be used.

ANVISA consider Methamidophos TC has toxicity to nervous system and immune system, and disrupting to hormones. So Brazil determined to eliminate this pesticide.

Agenda of elimination:

Stop the production of Methamidophos TC and related formulations.

Before Dec. 31th,2011 remove all products of Methamidophos from market.

Before June 30^th,2012 stop the usage of related products and stop the estimate of toxicity.

Before Dec. 31th, 2012 delete this product from related Pharmacopoeia monographs, and only keep related data on detection of wast.

Starting from June 30^th, 2012 all manufacturers need to finished the collection and dispose.

Starting from 2012, introduce other organic chlorides pesticide to fill the gap in the market.

Copa-Cogeca predicted that cultivated area of gain and oil crops in EU will be slightly increased in 2011/2012 planting season.

The cultivated area of gain is predicted to be 5670 million hectares which is increased 0.3% at the same period. The cultivated area of soft wheat is up to 2300 million hectares which is increased 1%. The cultivated area of barley is up to 1270 million hectares which is increased 0.1%. The cultivated area of oil crops is up to 1100 million hectares which is increased 0.4%. Among the cultivated area of oil crops, for rapeseed is up to 680 million hectares which is increased 0.6%. And for sunflower is around 370 million hectares.
