World Crop Protection Market Growth Slows Down
2011-1-31

According to analysis by Phillips Mc Dougal, global crop protection market in year 2010 reached around 38.2 billions dollars, with 1% growth rate. If we included non-crop protection market, the total revenue is 44.2 billions, which is about 1.2% growth rate.

Generally, the turnover in 2008 is the highest record, as Glyphosate’s market price has been pushed up to an extent, the overall market value was over 46 billions. Without taking into account the event happened in 2008, agrochemical market in recent two years is growing constantly.

The increase in soy bean and corn plantation area and food price, has help stabilize the agrochemical market, however, the natural factors such as weather, has affected the crop protection market, especially the drought in China and flood in Pakistan.

In fact, the inflation is higher than 1%. After calibration, the global crop protection’s actual market value has decreased 1.7%. The market value in Europe has decreased almost 7%, North America about 1.3%, Asia region has not increased. Latin America region tend to increased 8% but actually only 3.7%.

The demand is increasing at very low level, the main factors are:

1.       Glyphosate's overcapacity caused price decreased.

2.       Food price increased

3.       Agriculture situation improve in Latin America

4.       Well corn plantation in North America

5.       Worsen plantation in European region

6.       Brazilian Real depreciated against US dollars.

7.       GMO corn plantation increased

We hope to see the crop protection industry will be improved in year 2011.

New Herbicide Needed To Solve Resistance
2011-1-27

Resistance of the herbicides we used becomes the inevitable problem haunting the end users. Recently, one of the main target of BCPC (The British Crop Protection Council) held in UK is to make out a solution to this issue. This is also the hot topic which many experts are facing.

The culprit of the resistance is abusing the single-target organic herbicide since 2000. The research shows that all we need is a kind of new herbicide which could replace the single-target ones to fight against diseases such as black-grass, also to work in the break crop, especially in beans.

Therefore, we count on the new herbicide to be a savior. And the sales trend & market share will be definitely thriving and remarkable.
